The unifying theme for Medicines Management 2008, the 34th SHPA National Conference is STEPS, defining a topic that literally represents our actions in daily practice, and whose sub-themes of Safety, Teamwork, Evidence, Professionalism and Solutions contribute to all the elements of the medicines management pathway.
GREEN INITIATIVES
A big STEP we have taken this year is to introduce a number of ‘green’ initiatives. These include:
-
Our First Keynote Speaker Tanya Ha who will be presenting an exploration of how pharmacists in their professional and personal lives can reduce their ‘footprint’ on the environment.
-
A reduction in printed materials which means that most conference material will be available in pdf format on the SHPA website
-
The conference handbook will be printed on recycled paper
-
There will be no satchel inserts
-
Delegates are requested to bring their own satchel to the conference. Eco bags will be available at the conference for those who need one.
-
-
The use of ‘low-mile’ food and beverages at the conference.
-
Use of recycled name badges
-
Acknowledgment of sponsors’ green initiatives in the conference handbook
-
We encourage all delegates to purchase carbon offsets for their flights. For a chance to be in the draw for a great prize place a copy of your carbon offset invoice in the box at the registration desk
-
The Walk to Adelaide Challenge including a complimentary pedometer. Please refer to details below.
