Bursary Criteria
To apply for a bursary for complete costs or airfare, accommodation and meal allowance, delegates
must be from Country Group Two as specified in the registration brochure.
Delegates from Country Group One (excluding Australia) can apply for a bursary for travel and
accommodation only. All delegates can apply for a bursary for registration costs only.
Airfares
Airfares will be covered for the cheapest economy flight available.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be specified by the conference executive committee.
Registration
Registration will cover attendance at the conference, pre conference day and all conference social
events.
Meal allowance
Meal allowance will be paid on a per diem basis, and will take into account that some meals are
covered as a part of the conference registration.
Preference is given to those actively engaged in delivering or studying palliative care, and who have
submitted a contribution to the conference. Applicants are expected to attend the conference, and a
full program of professional development workshops.
• Preference will be given to those presenting papers at the conference.
• Preference will then be given to those who might reasonably be expected to find it hard to
obtain funding to attend the conference.
• Decisions will be made by the Conference Bursary Committee and their decision will be
final. No correspondence will be entered into.
Contract
We will ask you to read and sign a bursary contract stating the terms and conditions of the bursary and the charge to a credit card if you fail to attend. Upon receipt of this signed contract, we will confirm your bursary place. The bursary scheme will prove popular and as places are limited many people will be disappointed. To ensure attendance at the event, we require a credit card or post-dated cheque to secure the free place. If you attend the credit or debit card or equivalent post-dated cheque will not be charged. If you fail to attend without notice in writing 3 weeks prior to the event, the card will be charged for the full conference fee or the cheque cashed.
